AutonomIQ

Shaping the Future of Manufacturing with AI
How can machine tools operate more intelligently, efficiently, and autonomously? The founders of AutonomIQ were already exploring this question during their research at the Technical University of Darmstadt. A research project on autonomous machine tools gave rise to the idea of developing AI-powered software that automates complex planning processes in manufacturing and helps companies streamline their production workflows. With the founding of AutonomIQ, the team decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship and translate their research findings into a practical solution for industry.
Funding from the exist research transfer program played a crucial role in this journey. For co-founder and COO Felix Hoffmann, it was the catalyst that allowed him to take the leap from research into entrepreneurship. Especially for technology-oriented spin-offs, the risk is high at the outset and the path to market readiness is often long. The funding gave the team the necessary confidence to focus on further developing the technology and taking the next step in its development. Furthermore, the exist funding has proven to be an important seal of approval. It signals to potential partners and investors that the project is backed by solid technology and that the idea has already been successfully validated. For AutonomIQ, this has opened important doors and facilitated the establishment of new contacts and collaborations.
Today, AutonomIQ works closely with machine manufacturers, production companies, and other industry partners to put its solution into practice. Initial applications are already demonstrating the technology’s potential, and market demand is growing steadily. To drive further development, the company is currently preparing a funding round and plans to expand its team in a targeted manner. The story of AutonomIQ exemplifies how scientific findings can lead to successful innovations and how the exist grant supports startup teams in successfully making the transition from research to the market.
